A Young Person’s Guide for Understanding & Managing Anxiety
If you answered yes to these questions, you and your students might find our FREE guide and workbook useful.
All children and young people can feel worried. It is a normal response to something that they find stressful.
But sometimes that worry can grow, and they start to feel anxious. It might affect their school attendance, or maybe they regularly tell you that they feel unwell.
Talking to your neurodivergent students about their feelings can help them to identify their anxiety and find ways of managing it.
To help you both begin to understand and manage their anxiety, we have created a FREE Guide and Workbook.
A Little Bit About Me
I’m Jodie Isitt, founder of The Nurture Programme®, Autistic adult and parent to three neurodivergent children.
I started The Nurture Programme® in 2020 during lockdown as vulnerable families were thrown into isolation.
Since then, we’ve helped families who are all neurodivergent and have conflicting profiles, and parents who have neurodivergent children and wish to adopt a more neuro-inclusive mindset.

In summary, the social story validates the child's experience as the child's voice/perspective is so powerful. The interactive workbook is child friendly and flows perfectly from one activity to the next. There are plenty of opportunities to really connect with the young person and work collaboratively to understand anxiety and create a personalised advocacy plan.

From a therapeutic perspective, it highlights areas of need in terms of where the child may need further support such as interoception. I can not wait for the neurokits to be accessible to all.

I will leave this with a comment from the 11 year old as they finished the pack "this is going to help a lot of people".
Neurodivergent Young Person
I cannot put into words how much this process has helped both the child & myself in our understanding. It has enabled our relationship to strengthen which is key for me in supporting him going forward, he named me as one of his safe people which was humbling.

It opened up conversations that I do not think we would have had without this workbook because he finally felt understood, the self-advocacy section absolutely did the job it was intended to do! As well as the two examples given, he was able to voice further issues which I am now aware of & can support with

Both these booklets are clearly thoughtfully and attractively produced psychoeducation aids for children and their families/carers. All in all, liked these and think could be very helpful. Can I say a huge well done. I would give them to my family members.
